Cosmic Realities and the Multiverse: The Physics of Parallel Worlds

This work provides a detailed examination of the multiverse theory, exploring the scientific concepts that suggest the existence of parallel worlds and alternative cosmic realities. It delves into the foundational principles of modern physics that lead to the consideration of a multiverse, offering a structured journey through some of the most profound ideas in contemporary science.
The book begins by establishing the quantum mechanical basis for the multiverse, with a focus on the many-worlds interpretation. It explores how reality might branch during quantum measurement processes and discusses the critical role of quantum decoherence. The text analyzes the boundary between the quantum and classical realms and investigates the practical physics of quantum entanglement, including nonlocal correlations between particles.
Subsequently, the discussion expands to various cosmological models. The mechanism of eternal inflation is presented as a process for generating bubble universes from the quantum vacuum, leading to an exploration of how physical constants might vary across these different cosmic domains. The work also classifies different types of multiverses, from spatially separated universes to those governed by entirely different laws of physics.
Further sections are dedicated to theoretical frameworks involving higher dimensions. The fundamentals of string theory are introduced, explaining how vibrating strings could form the basis of all matter and how extra dimensions might be compactified. The concept of brane cosmology is examined, where our universe is envisioned as a three-dimensional membrane within a higher-dimensional space, allowing for interactions between parallel branes.
Finally, the book addresses the methodological consequences of these theories, including a thorough discussion of the anthropic principle and its application in scientific reasoning. It outlines the challenges and approaches for formulating testable hypotheses for the multiverse theory and considers how these concepts prompt a re-evaluation of fundamental assumptions in physics, such as the uniqueness of natural laws and the very definition of reality.
